What is it about?

We collect various personal data. Here we inform you as required by the Data Protection Act.

(hereinafter: "we"), as the operator of the website www.smg.swiss, is responsible for the personal data of the users (hereinafter: "you") of the website within the meaning of the FADP.

 

What personal data do we collect?

In addition to the information that you yourself provide to us (through what you tell us, give us and what you do with us), we may also obtain information about you from third parties, namely:

  • Your name, area of operation and request (thanks / request) and related information as given to us by friends or third parties who care about you and included by us accordingly in our prayer and donor lists and newsletters.
  • Your bank details, in case you want us to transfer donations
  • Visuals (photo/video) we receive from a photographer at a corporate/church event or other third party.
  • Your social media/online activities
  • Publications in which you appear

 

Do personal data go abroad?

Yes, this is possible, to the EEA but also to any country in the world. If this is a country without sufficient data protection, we conclude the EU standard contractual clauses in particular, but may also rely on consent in some cases or transfer data abroad because it is necessary for the performance of a contract with you or in your interest (e.g. collecting donations or prayers for you abroad).

 

What do we collect personal data for?

We do this for the following purposes (in addition to those we tell you separately):

  • Communicating with you
  • Prayers (newsletters, prayer lists)
  • Marketing (fundraising, print media, newsletters, brochures)
  • Newsletter
  • Acknowledgements for your work / assistance
  • Conclusion/processing of contracts with you, including applications
  • Operation of infrastructure, website
  • Market analyses (in the area of core tasks: Pioneering, church planting, church development, social diaconal tasks, training, discipleship, humanitarian work/emergency aid/development cooperation; in the area of personnel: short-term vs. long-term; donations; legal form).
  • Training, continuing education
  • Compliance with legal obligations

 

To whom do we disclose personal data?

  • Business partners (ministries, churches and other persons at home/abroad with whom we cooperate).
  • Service providers (e.g. IT and cloud providers, banks, insurance companies, transport and shipping companies)
  • Distributors of newsletters and prayer letters as well as donor lists
  • Public authorities (especially where we are obliged to do so)
  • Third parties who collect data about you via the website (namely Google for web analytics).

 

Your rights?

In principle, you have the right to request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular you can

  • Information about the personal data as such,
  • the purpose of processing,
  • the storage period or, if this is not possible, the criteria for determining this period,
  • the origin of your data, if it has not been collected from you,
  • where applicable, about the existence of an automated individual decision,
  • if applicable, about the recipients or the categories of recipients to whom your personal data are disclosed.

 

You also have the right to

  • revoke any consent you may have given for the use of your personal data
  • have your personal data stored by us corrected
  • Have your personal data stored by us deleted or otherwise object to our processing of it.

 

Depending on the circumstances, we may or must restrict these rights as provided by law, e.g. for the protection of third parties or where we are legally obliged to retain data (in the case of donor data, the retention period is generally 10 years).
